Being a Confused Teen

There is so much going on in the world today- and young people are expected to get more and more 'hands on' as time goes by, it seems. But there's a major problem- we aren't being given enough information. We're told as soon as we hit 18 to vote vote vote! but how should we go about making decisions without knowing anything about what we're voting towards?

I confess, its taken me over half a year after leaving high school to think about anything going on in the world- I was sort of aware of jokes made at the expense of politicians, but that was about the extent of my knowledge.

Recently, however, I have been plagued by stuff I know virtually nothing about- and it woke me up. I looked around and I saw how much I truly did not know- and I don't like not knowing things. When you're reading articles- just newpaper articles, or similar- and you understand what every single word means but don't have a clue what the article is trying to tell you- it makes you think. Makes you want to learn. For this, the actor Adam Baldwin takes much of the blame- well, the credit. It was only after he linked several articles via twitter that everything hit me.

I have been fortunate enough, also, to have fallen into friendship with many lovely people who all seem very willing to put up with my moronic questions, and have shed light on many a situation for me. I am so very grateful to all of you! I don't want to name too many names in fear that I miss someone out, so I guess you'll just have to trust that I am aware of how much you're helping me and love you for it.
