I'm 20. There, I said it. That's not all thats changed since the last time I really blogged about anything, but its surely the most significant... though, I don't live at home anymore, I live in London... I don't have a job anymore- I go to Uni... oh yeah- I'm not single anymore... okay, so a bunch of stuff has happened- you really want me to go into *everything*?
September 18th we packed up my stuff and headed down to London! I got my bunny teddy, got my guitar- my really comfy pillow- and packed them up into the car- my mom and brother, me and then we picked up Cazza- for she lives in much the same direction :) a greatly uneventful journey- we stopped midway for some finger lickin' good KFC to tide over our hungry hungry tummies and arrived at UEL (University of East London) mid-afternoon. First things first- we headed into the east building where I was given a few forms, a number- and, reassuringly, a rape alarm branded with the university logo. Then came the long wait for my turn to be called- fun times! To skip a lot of boring stuff- I eventually got my keys and could move my stuff into my room. Another fun part coming up- getting everything upstairs... to the top floor... no lift. Somehow, it all got done and, in the true nature of my mother- as soon as everything was in the room my mom and brother said goodbye and headed back up to East Yorkshire! By this point, I think I'd met 2 of my flat-mates, very briefly, and so, knowing no one- I headed to the free bbq the UEL people had told me about- ooh! free food!
I talked to the guy stood next to me in line for a while... haven't seen him since- then when I sat down I got into a conversation with a couple of other students, we headed off to the underground bar, had a drink, left... haven't seen them since... I'll be frank, I didn't have the best weekend: my Internet wasn't working, I couldn't watch tv without an aerial, I knew no one- oh yeah, and when I was debating whether or not to go back inside the bar, some snotty nosed little shits threw eggs at me.So I went back to my room, cooked up some instant noodles and watched Fanboys. Sunday wasn't very eventful, I took a walk, I did some shopping for essentials and not much else happened- I tried to stay out of the way of people- wait until I joined societies and started my course to meet people in the same sort of thinking/personality as myself- given that the only form of socializing at this point was hang out at the bar and talk to strangers whilst getting inebriated, I opted to stay in and watch movies.
Monday was better- went to get my student ID, and went through freshers fayre, stopping at pretty much all the stalls, however- the one that really made me stop was this one:
anyone who knows what I'm like, knows why this stall stopped me! I don't wanna get too gushy, because I now know a lot of the people involved in this and I don't want them to read this and get really big egos! So, if you really feel like getting into it with me, please send me a message through the usual channels and we can have, like, a human conversation!
The rest of the week pretty much dragged on slowly... I still didn't really know anyone and so the highlight of my calender was games society on Friday. Yep. The only thing, besides actually starting my course, that I was in any way looking forward to was Games Society. So I'll skip ahead to Friday :) It was wicked cool fun! A lot of people were there for the street-fighter tournament, and I put my name down, naturally, though it has to be said, I'm pretty crap at video games, despite how much I love playing them! Turns out, iccle-me was the only girl in the competition... random, right? The main thing is.... I didn't get knocked out in the first round, and... it *must* be noted that the guy who beat me went on to win the whole competition... I know, excuses excuses, right? Anyhoo- I also played cards with a couple of guys and ended up staying at the meeting thingy so long that I got to help put the room straight (though I had no idea what the room was meant to look like...) with the room straightening though, came the open invitation to the bar with the cool people of GS. More socializing- but this time, with people who spoke my language! I totally found my film/tv soulmate (more on *that* later :P) but unfortunately, I hadn't anticipate staying out so long and so was wasting away from lack of food and had to dip out. Nevertheless, 'twas an awesome day and night for nomi!
Over the weekend I did awesome things... like, er... well- I cooked some stuff- thats pretty much all I did that first week and weekends that I was down here... then the next week lessons began (for more info on those and what goes on in my classes, please refer to my other blogs: world theatre and performance lab) on September 28th, I went to see fanboys! like at an actual cinema!! Photos to follow!! The director, Kyle Newman is one of the loveliest guys ever, and was awesome enough to recognize me from my crazy-person twitter promoting of the movie ;P

Later on I did some fun stuff- went to the theatre, hung out with a couple of people from my course, did some work, lather rinse repeat, lather rinse repeat- went to a free movie with E4's slackers club, that was pretty good- movie called Mr. Nice... then another week happened, lather rinse repeat- went back to GS- 3rd week, was once again fun- although... it must be noted... I played no games... first week I played streetfighter and a variety of playing card games, second week I played scrabble and something about Zombies... week three... no games were played by me at the games society... went to the bar with the awesome crowd again, lots of conversation :) Went to Tescos to get shopping... with a boy... came back, watched fanboys... with the boy... you see where I'm going with this? At some point this boy became 'the boy' as I have dubbed him. He's a nerd, and he's totally cute and if you wanna know anything more- then you'll have to talk to me- and I totally have to know you!
How much more can I talk about in one post, I wonder... oh yeah- i didn't mention the four firetrucks that turned up at my building in the first week, here are photos of three of them:
What else have I done since moving down here? I met up with my aunt Evelyn, watched 'Love Never Dies' ... Oh yeah, the whole 'turning 20' thing :) I got lovely stuff off of the boy ^_^
On my B-Day I hung out with the boy- walked around parts of London- met up with a couple of friends too- cazza and hatty and we four all went to TGI Fridays- and ate foood! Er... I get the feeling that either I'm losing my audience here... or I'm just losing it... perhaps I should quit whilst I'm ahead (kinda) and post this thing before any bad stuff happens lol!!
